I’m a first time mom and the thought of breastfeeding initially was overwhelming for me. When I finally tried to breastfeed and I was having sharp pain in my right nipple, my son was super fussy and I just figured it was something I had to get used to. Luckily I decided to contact my hospital’s lactation department and they recommended lactationnetwork.com. Thankfully Kellye is the lactation consultant I was connected with based off my geographical location. Kellye came for a home visit and shed light on what was really going on; my son had a tongue and lip tie so he was not latching appropriately, hence the nipple pain and fussiness. She was so knowledgeable and supportive in my journey to get the release procedures and helped to finally get my son eating normally. Now I enjoy breastfeeding and love having that connection with my son. I have Kellye to thank for that!! <3

Speak with a lactation consultant as soon as you can. The amount of knowledge they have and wisdom they share is more than you can even imagine! Having another support to add to your village is invaluable!
